ET 4: Effective Instruction

The research focus of this ET is on how learning processes and outcomes in academic settings can be improved by instruction. The goal is to advance a new research approach that enables a more systematical exploration of the interdependencies and interaction effects of domain specific and domain-independent factors of effective instruction. The research approach thus includes 1) generalisation studies designed to identify areas of effective application of domain-specific instructional approaches (Fachdidaktik), and 2) specification studies aimed at testing and adapting domain-general instructional approaches to a specific field.
