Application and Tuition

For enrolment, applicants have to apply to both universities individually according to their administrative requirements, in the consecutive years. Basically, these entry requirements encompass knowledge and skills in the domain of educational science and social science research methods and techniques. Please check the respective websites for more information.

 

Students in the Double Degree Program are enrolled and registered at both institutions as follows.

Option A - start at LMU in October: Enrollment status and application procedure

(During the last semester registration at both universities
is necessary to obtain both diplomas)

Specific application information:

  • Apply for the M.Sc. Psychology: Learning Sciences by March 01 for October intake (more info).
    If you are an international student, you need to additionally submit your application to the International Office (hardcopies) via the program coordination by April 15 (only in this case can we assist you in the process).
  • Register at LMU by Mid October for October intake.
  • Make your interest in the Double Degree known to the M.Sc Psychology: Learning Sciences coordinator by the end of your first semester (then the final decision will be made if you are eligible to join the double degree program)
  • Register at UT before May 01 (visa-students) or July 01 (non-visa students) and start to study at UT in September

 

Option B - start at UT in February: Enrollment status and application procedure

Specific application information:

  • Make your interest formally known to M.Sc. Educational Science and Technology staff by December 01 (February start) or February 01 (September start - you may participate in the Pre-Master's Program before joining the Double Degree program in February) 
  • Register at UT by Oct 01 (visa-students) or December 01 (non-visa students) for February intake (more info)
  • Submit your application to the M.Sc. Psychology: Learning Sciences preferably by March 01 (online), by April 01 (to program coordination via e-mail directly) the latest (more info). The later application via e-mail is solely available for double degree students already enrolled at UT.
    If you are an international student, you need to additionally submit your application to the International Office (hardcopies) via the program coordination by May 15 (only in this case can we assist you in the process).

 

Students participating in the double degree programme pay the (tuition) fees at the institution(s) where they are enrolled/registered.
In practice, LMU charges a solidary fee of approx. Euro 150 per semester (including basic off-peak public transportation; more information here).
UT charges a tuition fee of approx. Euro 1000 per semester (for EU students) or approx. Euro 6000 (for Non-EU students). More information here.
Typically, students doing the Double Degree are enrolled at UT for a whole year, that is 2 semesters.
Study fees at UT may be partially waived for DD students (no guarantee though and only known once you have decided for the DD option).

UT offers a pre-master programme which you may complete in the winter semester (September-February) before applying to the double degree program (Option B only). Obtained credits will be counted towards your M.Sc. Psychology: Learning Sciences application.
