Thesis topic: Social Referencing in Autism
Abstract: People with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are known to have social impairments and delay in language development (APA, 2000). A causal link between the delay in language development and social impairments had been proposed (Baron-Cohen, et al., 1997). In my doctorate project I want to compare the effect of different types of cues (both social and non-social) on novel word-object association.
