# EP3: ELK Math

**Effects of heuristic worked examples and collaboration scripts on the acquisition of individual and discoursive components of mathematical argumentation skill**

The focus of mathematical curricula recently shifted from the description of mathematical content to the use of this content and likewise the process of mathematical operations, e.g. mathematical argumentation. Research has shown that learners have tremendous problems with the development of adequate mathematical argumentation. This project aims at finding ways to combine two instructional approaches, (a) heuristic worked examples and (b) collaboration scripts, to reach synergistic scaffolding with respect to the facilitation of mathematical argumentation competence.
