Prof. Dr. Hedwig Gasteiger – awarded for good teaching practice

In December 2012 Prof. Dr. Hedwig Gasteiger was awarded the prize for good teaching practice at Bavarian state universities, provided by the Bavarian Ministry of Knowledge, Science and Arts. Fifteen university teachers were granted the prize. Three of them come from the University of Munich.
Prof. Gasteiger is part of the mathematics education group of LMU. She has joined the Munich Center of the Learning Sciences in 2012.
Prof. Gasteiger shares with us: “Qualifying young people to become good teachers is very important to me.. Therefore, I aspire to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills they need in order to plan and carry out lessons built on sound subject matter knowledge and with careful regard to the individual abilities of each child."
